Move your Equation Editor to Trash and install Mathtype (for Mac)

I was a PC user, now move on to Mac. I write technical articles with lots of math equations so Mathtype has been one of my best friends in my works. When I move on to Mac, I installed Microsoft Word for Mac and Mathtype. Everything works perfectly in the beginning but I then start to find some annoying issues!

List of issues with Mathtype in Word for Mac:
1. When you open a Word file with all the Mathtype equations inside, you may double click on them to edit. However, the double clicking enables the Equation Editor in Word and also converts them to Microsoft equations!! Orz... I tried many different things but they never convert back to Mathtype equations.
2. When you create a Mathtype equation using those Mathtype functions, it sometimes initiate the Equation Editor not the Mathtype editor which is very annoying! Again, even if you successfully create an equation by Mathtype, Word may convert it to Microsoft equation soon and you have the issue #1 again!

Solution:
1. Drop your Equation Editor to trash.
2. Reinstall Mathtype.
3. Everything works perfectly now and you never need to worry about equation editing in Word for Mac anymore!
